Why Oman?

Ancient history combines with incredible landscapes and vibrant culture.

From spectacular mountains, wind-blown deserts and a pristine coastline, Oman is the obvious choice for those seeking out the modern face of Arabia while still sensing its ancient soul. Explore the capital city of Muscat, with its resplendent Opera House complex (which reflects contemporary Omani architecture, and can accommodate a maximum of 1,100 people) and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque ( a splendor of unique Islamic architecture).

A two-hour drive away from the capital Muscat to one of Oman's oldest and largest fortresses, Nizwa Fort (In the north of Oman), In Sur, visit the Al Ayjah Lighthouse and Dhow Factory, where you will hear from a boatman explaining how Omani wooden boats are still built by hand. Drive away from the city's life into the Wahiba Sands for an unforgettable experience of Bedouin life. Stay at least a night in a desert camp where to camp out under the stars.

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve is a must-visit place to see turtles nesting, ride a 4X4 vehicle to the Jagbel Akhdar (Green Mountain) or Jebel Shams(Sun Mountain) for stunning views of the canyons. One more place you can't miss is Salalah, The city of Salalah is the capital of the Dhofar region of Oman and is known as the birthplace of former Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Salalah provides a cool summer retreat, it also turns the countryside a lush and tropical green.

When is the best time to Visit Oman?

The best time to visit Oman start from Oct to May every year, the weather during these periods is pleasant and ideal for exploring the country..

October–November: Comfortable temperatures, clear skies, and the autumn harvest in the markets

November–March: Cooler temperatures and festivals

January: Cool, clear skies that are perfect for sightseeing and beach visits

April: The rose harvest on Jebel Akhdar

Oman's climate varies by region, with coastal areas experiencing high humidity and the interior regions being extremely hot. The summer months of June to August are very hot and humid and are not ideal for travel.

October to April is best for outdoors and festivals

High season in Oman with pleasant temperatures ranging from about 15°C to 30°C. Omanis and tourists prefer the cooler temperatures that October brings. It’s a perfect time to enjoy nature walks and hikes with the fall harvest of olives, walnuts, and pomegranates. Ramadan dates vary every year, for 2025, Ramadan is expected from the end of Feb to the end of March (Eid al-Fitr is expected on 31st March). During Ramadan, most restaurants close during the day, but hotels have food available for guests in private.

May to September is best for indoor activities and turtle-watching

Oman’s summer months are quite difficult for tourists unless you’re heading to Salalah in the Dhofar region or Jebel Shams & Jabal Al Akhdar. The hot temperatures drive visitors indoors to learn about the history and culture of Oman at museums like Bait Al Zubair, the National Museum of Oman, and the Oman Across Ages Museum. Cool off while shopping at Oman Avenues Mall or Mall of Muscat. By September, cooler fall weather arrives in the desert. Wildlife watchers and beachgoers should venture to Ras Al Jinz Beach to witness the hatching of baby turtles at Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve.
